Students could use research to save money
Monday, July 5 2010
Saving money may be more crucial than ever while at university, so students due to start their studies this September may be interested in research completed by Defaqto.
The firm has compiled a list of 23 student and graduate accounts, each analysed and rated on a range of factors.
Among the areas looked at are cost, incentives, special features and effectiveness, with each given a score out of five.
"Our star ratings provide consumers with an easy way of assessing the quality of a financial product and help them to make a more informed purchase decision," explains Defaqto's insight analyst for banking Kevin Bray.
Students or future students interested in finding out which account suits them best could visit the organisation's website and enter their details.
Such a move may prove to be shrewd in the long-run, with student loans due to be repaid once a graduate is earning £15,000.
