Step One: Deciding to take action
This session aims to give you a better understanding of the reasons you got in to debt and will help you recognise the impact your debts are having on your life. You will be asked to write down your financial vision for the future so you have a clear picture of your financial goals. |

Step Two: Working out your financial statement
This session takes you step by step through the process of compiling your Financial Statement. You will need to present this to all your creditors as proof of your financial position so it is important to get it right. The process involves working out your income and expenditure; establishing what money you have got left over; listing your creditors; prioritising them and then allocating your available income in a way that is likely to be considered fair and acceptable by your creditors. |

Step Three: Negotiating with your creditors - Knowledge Builder
This session aims to increase your knowledge of the Collections process by building your awareness of the possible outcomes at each stage. This will ensure you are better equipped to deal with any questions or objections your creditors may present during the negotiation process. |

Step Four: Negotiating with your creditors - Negotiation Toolkit
Having built up your knowledge of the debt collection process, this session will give you the tools to put that knowledge in to practice. You can listen to sample conversations and adapt template letters to your individual situation. This will help you make contact with your creditors in a professional and effective manner both on the phone and by letter. |

Step Five: Negotiating with your creditors - Skills Developer
This session includes practical exercises aimed at improving your telephone handling skills to help you communicate on the phone in an assertive and professional manner. It will also develop your objection handling skills and provide the necessary information to help you deal with threats and intimidation in a calm, controlled manner. |

Step Six: Improving your current financial situation
This session looks at ways in which you can improve your financial situation by increasing your income and reducing your expenditure. |

Step Seven: Planning for a debt free future
This session looks at how you can set goals for the future using a personal budget to ensure you achieve your goals and keep on track with your spending. This will help you achieve your ultimate aim of remaining debt free for life. |
